Happy Pride! Here's How You Can Celebrate Pride Virtually
Pride Month is here but parades and demonstrations are being held digitally this year. Here at West Side we are looking forward to helping our LGBTQ+ community celebrate their Pride through celebrations and programming online.
Film festivals celebrating the Black queer experience, panels on the LGBTQIA community in tech, and performances from drag stars are all still on! This month is full of virtual concerts, trivia nights, web shows, and more to bring you the joyous spirit of Pride into your home. Let’s not forget that even though this year’s Pride festivities will not look like previous celebrations, the LGBTQ+ community and commemoration of the Stonewall Riot continues.
We would like to invite parents and families to celebrate as well and to become their kid’s strongest allies! The following is an article about how all families can recognize LGBTQ Pride Month.

Stay Well and Healthy,
Happy Wellness Wednesday!!!
Hope everyone is WELL and Healthy!!!! Today I would like to share with you a beautiful lesson from which you will learn but most of all you will love!
Lesson: Build Your Own Tiny Greenhouse.
Making your own greenhouse is great for growing your garden at home! Most of us living in NYC don't have enough space to grow a normal size garden at home but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a tiny one!
This lesson will teach you step by step how to make your own lil' greenhouse at home with empty egg cartons, small plastic bags, and plastic containers. I encourage you to try it and enjoy the process of growing plants!!!

Have a great day!
Hope this finds you well and HEALTHY. During these unprecedented times it is important for you (students) to work with your family/household members to create individual mental wellness plans for when you are feeling challenging emotions. You and your family/household
members can list actions that you can do alone, virtually with others, or in connection to a professional.
The goal is to create a plan to maintain or improve emotional and mental health if/when difficult emotions arise while social distancing.
Watch this Ted Talk video about Mental Wellness that provides examples of mental health improvement strategies in young people.
